Start Time: 10am sharp each day

Finish Time: 6pm approx. each day

 

Eligibility

Under 14 and 16 Boys teams for the 2014/2015 season

  • Under 14 – born on or after January 1st 2001
  • Under 16 – born on or after January 1st 1999

 

Tournament Format

The first round will be on a group stage basis with four groups of three with teams based on a geographical basis to ensure that each team plays against teams from another county where possible.

The winners and runners-up will qualify for the North West Cup to compete in the quarter finals with the winners taking the semi final place. The 3rd place team will enter the North West Shield competition. There are play offs for position for the other teams to provide four games for all teams.

The semi-finals and final of the North West Cup and North West Shield will be sudden death and in the event of a tie will go straight to a penalty shoot out with three players taking penalties.

 

Precipitation Fee and Entry

There is a participation fee of €100 for each team for the tournament. The fee and application form must be with the tournament director to guarantee entry to the tournament. The first four teams, from different counties, who return their entry form, will be guaranteed entry to the tournament. This is to ensure that there is an appropriate mix of teams from a variety of counties. The winners of the North West Cup and North West Shield will win a Cup and Shield respectively. All winning players and runners-up will receive medals.

 

Tournament Apparel

Tournament tee-shirts can be purchased at the North West Cup in the club shop. JAKO sports are the official apparel provider to the tournament and are based in Sligo town.

 

Player of the Tournament

The match officials will select the most outstanding player of the tournament who will win an award. Previous winners include current Republic of Ireland U17 captain Noe Baba.
